Boards
Nylon runs on the board with nothing under it: no Linux, no init, no scheduler but its own.
Running today
Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+
Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W
Both run the same program and the same libraries. Write for one and it runs on the other.
Coming
Raspberry Pi 4 Model B
Compute Module 4
Joining a network
The board joins your network on its own, and IntelliJ finds it there — no screen, no keyboard, no cable.
Guest, campus and library networks usually keep devices from seeing each other, so IntelliJ will not find a board on one. A home network works, and so does a phone's hotspot.
note
The per-board compatibility grid — which driver and which program works on which board — and the guide to the board's status light, including how to read a fault's blink count, are being written now.
